Komae is a new app for parents to unlock unlimited babysitting by exchanging sits with trusted friends.

The founder are both moms who have experienced the pain of trying to find and afford trusted child care. So they decided why not share rather than spend? The pair created a traditional babysitting co-op with 16 of their friends, swapping sits with friends for points rather than paying cash. And they quickly realized they had unlocked a parenting hack that needed to be digitized and spread around the country.

There are a lot of solutions to the babysitting problem that lead to parents paying more for child care rather than less. Komae’s solution is the only on the market that relieves parents of the cost and guilt that comes with babysitting. It’s applying the service sharing economy to babysitting for the first time.
