Northeast Ohio medical technology projects get financial boost from Third Frontier program

A slew of high-tech medical projects are getting a financial boost from the Ohio Third Frontier program. Eight of the 10 projects that received funding were related to medical technology. And eight of the 10 projects were based in Northeast Ohio, according to a news release from the Third Frontier, a technology-focused economic development program. ... Red5 Pharmaceuticals, located in the city of Cleveland (Cuyahoga County), was awarded $60,000 to further develop a sensor kit to predict whether or not a patient’s leukemia or brain cancer will respond to a specific chemotherapy regimen prior to starting treatment.
